U.S.S. Versailles
Diplomatic Transport
NCC-91122

To accommodate the wide variety of species it hosts, the U.S.S. Versailles is one of the most flexible vessels in Starfleet when it comes to environmental adaptability. Its internal design allows it to maintain up to 20 different environmental zones that emulate the atmosphere, gravity and pressure of nearly every planetary class, assuring each representative traveling on board will be comfortable and relaxed. Its meeting and conference facilities have been designed to accommodate the unique rituals and requirements of all of the cultures in the Federation's xenobiology database. Essentially, the Versailles Class vessels create "common ground" for the negotiations necessary to build strong and lasting relationships between people of differing and widely divergent backgrounds.

The Versailles' propulsion and defensive technologies are balanced for speed and protection of the important delegates it carries. The warp engines are adapted to allow a top "burst" speed of warp 9.5 which can be sustained for nearly twenty hours in an emergency situation. And having learned from experience that many diplomatic missions bring the danger of sabotage or outright attack, the ship is equipped with ablative armor, redundant structural integrity fields around Ambassadorial quarters, and multi-phasic shielding with redundant emitters and dedicated reactors to power them. Internal security systems have been upgraded, and the vessel is well-armed with quantum torpedoes and multi-modal phaser arrays.

VERSAILLES CLASS MODEL - $250.00
Modeling details:

The Versailles class is constructed from an Ent C disk, modified to a smaller diameter, and topped with a command deck like the Excelsior class. The impulse engines aft of the bridge are the window units from a Runabout kit, attached to the end of the command deck. The disk is attached with an Excelsior neck to a modified Ent D body. I removed a 1/2 inch section from the middle of the engineering hull, making it more narrow and streamlined, and modified the deflector disk to compensate for the hulls modification. The nacelles are actually from the Vorcha class kit, with the ends removed and replaced with caps made from the wings of a SW droid fighter, similar to the process used for the Enigma Class's nacelles.

Happy modeling everyone
