U.S.S. Husky
NCC-99107
Heavy Deep Space Explorer

The second Siberia Class vessel, the U.S.S. Husky, is another in a long and proud line of large and powerful Federation cruisers. Its design lineage is obvious, and its vision of the future of warp engines is inspiring. An imposing vessel, it is nearly 1 1/2 times the length of a Sovereign class cruiser and nearly as much internal volume as the Galaxy Class Starships, until now the largest starship developed by Starfleet. Current speculation holds that sometime in the future, the next Enterprise, the "F" maybe, will likey be from this class. (Much like the Enterprise "B" was an upgraded Excelsior Class.)

The Husky is armed with eight quantum torpedo tubes and twenty regenerating phaser banks that are fed not only from internal ships power, but from energy siphoned off of enemy fire that strikes the new recycling shield technology. Though still in development and testing, the new shield grid can pull nearly 65% of the energy from a weapons strike into the recycling system and feed it to the phaser emitters. That added power boosts the emitters and makes the up-graded phaser technology even more powerful.

Large and heavily armored, the Husky is a perfect deep space explorer. More than capable of defending itself from a larger preditor or a "wolf pack", the Siberia Class is one of starfleet's most "independent" starships, requiring far less time in drydock than any other design. She is part of the future of deep space exploration.
