| U.S.S. McKinley NCC-86012 Diplomatic Cruiser The McKinley is an advanced Diplomatic Cruiser, assigned primarily to transporting and protecting important leaders and dignitaries during long diplomatic missions. Larger than a Soveriegn Class, it is very well armed and utilizes a new deflector dish configuration that magnifies the efficiency of the dish and primary sensors. Its dorsal transport and shuttle bays can handle vessels as large as a runabout, and it's advanced nacelle systems give it a faster upper range and longer top speeds than most Starfleet vessels. | Model Details: The Presidential Class was constructed from an Enterprise E and an F-19 Stealth plane kit. I split the command hull and widened it, scratchbashing the new hull sections that span the gap created. I attached the modified disk to the F-19 body via a piece of thick styrene that runs from tip to tail and mimics the silhouette of the hulls. The nacelle bussards have been modified with clear cockpit windows from one kit or another. Some folks have commented that they don't like the deflector dish, but I think it's fun.
