U.S.S. Jubilant NCC-8127 Heavy Cruiser The U.S.S. Jubilant is an experimental super-cruiser, over twice the size of the classic Excelsior Class vessel. A massive ship, it was one of most advanced ship of its time, and has been in service ever since it was first commissioned. The U.S.S. Jubilant, the first of the line, was lost in one of the pivotal battles of the Dominion War. A mission to locate and destroy a major Ketricel White manufacturing facility turned into a trap for the Federation fleet the Jubilant was leading. The Breen dampening weapon used against the Defiant and the multi-species fleet engaging Dominion forces in a different sector, was simultaneously used against the Jubliant's attack wave. The shields of the entire Federation contingent were brought down quickly, and the orbiting defense stations and packs of Cardassian wolves make quick work of the scattered fleet. While the Jubilant's crew fought valiantly, it was not enough. After suffering massive damage, a devastating blow ripped through the center of the command disk, destroying the bridge and the senior staff including the captain and first officer. One of the surviving engineering officers maneuvered the damaged vessel toward one of the defense platforms. After sending out a desperate call to the other incapacitated ships to move toward the other platforms and initiate simultaneous core breaches, the brave crew of the Jubilant sacrificed their lives...sending out the subspace message "Victory from the jaws of defeat!". The massive shockwave created by the breaches destroyed the platforms and the White facility on the surface of the planetoid, turning the trap sprung by the Dominion into it's defeat. The loss of the Jubliant and the other ships and all the brave crew that gave their lives will long be remembered. IMAGES: Scroll down to view holoimages of the vessel. Model notes follow below. Modeling details: The Jubilant Class was constructed in 1/2500 from a 3-ship C disc and a severely modified Excelsior energineering hull, struts made from part box aircraft wings and nacelles made from the interior clear nacelle grills of an Excelsior and the bussards from the 3-ship D. This was a fun little build.
