U.S.S. Excelsis Excelsior Class Variant NCC-7000 Developed just prior to the beginning of the Ambassador Class project, this upgraded variant of the classic Excelsior class cruiser was a perfect extension of the line of long and powerful starships. With a large command disc, a beefed up dorsal spine, and more powerful and effecient nacelles...the Excelsis could out-run and out-fight every class that came before it. The U.S.S. Excelsis is still in service today, proving this vessel is a solid and impressive member of the fleet. IMAGES: Scroll down to view holoimages of the vessel. Model notes follow below. Modeling details: The Excelsis Class was bashed from a 1/1000 scale Excelsior kit, with a modified command hull encorporating an Ambassador disc. The dorsal spine was beefed up with a section from a runabout kit. The struts came from the "C" kit, and the nacelles were modified with new bussard collectors modified from a single "C" bussard cut in half.
