This Daedalus Upgrade was put into service in the last half of the Earth/Romulan war. She is longer and more massive than her earlier incarnation, but during this period, still used polarized hull plating and just was integrating pulse weapons into the armament.

The Hornet is more manuverable, and more formidable in battle than any previous classes. It's bulk proved valuable in the fight with the smaller Romulan warbirds.
