Prior to the disastrous attack on the Founder's Homeworld, certain factions of the Obsidian Order were secretly stealing technology from the Jem'Hadar and the Dominion. This Faction, dubbed the "Raash" (which in our language translates the most accurately to Ninja...or shadowed killer), went very deep after the failed invasion, hiding themselves and the technology they had stolen. After having moved their developmental facility from the Orias system, they continued with their plan to rebuild the Order in their image, developing new weapons and ships from the resources they had stolen in the confusion of the Founder's retaliation upon Cardassia. Their goal was to reemerge after the war to take back and rebuild Cardassia as an Empire more ruthless than ever before.

The Raashgar Class is a battle vessel developed from a fusion of Cardassian. design and Dominion technology and weaponry. Larger than either the Galor or Keldon class ships, this ship is a juggernaut. Faster than anything in the Union before, its newly designed warp blades have an energy output curve that rivals the newest warp technology from the Federation. Additional warp trim fins allow the ship to maneuver remarkably quickly and elegantly. The shields and weapons technology are greatly enhanced, with far higher energy yields from the disrupters, and a constantly modulating shield silhouette that appears to deflect more destructive energy than before. The only appearance the Raashgar class has made was distant sensor readings from a Federation Patrol vessel on the edge of Breen space.
